Mom is starting to make kimchee. I was going to document it but she said it's a lot of work. I asked why she bothered and she said, "Cos I like it, Ohma."
From the back, "Erm, can you tell her not to eat it in bed." Ignoring him, my mom says, "Ohma, you 'membuh Roger Beebee? He love it. He call me Sister Kimchee. He even make his wife come over and learn how.

He is greatly missed. The music is not ours. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE working in radio? I meet some of the most interesting people. Whether they're hosts of shows or guests of those hosts, if they are on the radio, you can bet they have great stories to tell. I've only ever been star-struck once and that was when I had the opportunity to interview pin-up artist Les Toil. He has been a hero of mine for a loooooong time and I just couldn't stop giggling. My sincerest Thanks! go to my former, very competent show hosts for carrying the interview until I could get my enthrallment under control. Click on the photo to listen to the Curvaceous Bounty Episode where we interviewed Les Toil or right click and download it here: CBSC2012-09-16-PT1 Normally, I don't ask for photos from the guests that come in for interviews because, in my opinion, it's rude... but, on the rare occasion that I think my mom will want to see a photo, I ask. Today, I met Skip Martin, lead vocalist and trumpeter for Kool and the Gang (link goes to a video) and the Dazz Band (link goes to a video). My mom L-O-V-E-S Kool and the Gang, so I thought I should ask for a picture. Not only did I get this awesome picture for my mom, but this gregarious and talented man dedicated a song to me.... seriously!! I'm not kidding.... I can prove it!
The Mouse In The Stick Me: Why is your shirt dirty? Him: I don’t know…. There was baby powder on the mouse, maybe? … … … Me: Mouse? Him: The mouse in the stick … … … Me: Ummm, the mouse in the stick? Him: Yeah. Under the stage. ... ... ... Me: Uh, under the stage? Him: Yeah. … … … Me: So... you do this a lot. Do you do it on purpose or is it just habit? Him: What? Me: Throw out statements like, “There was baby powder on the mouse.” or “The mouse on the stick.” with seemingly no intention of explaining? … … … Him: (Sighs) There’s an actor at work who has a mouse that comes out of a stick and when they’re done with the scene he throws the mouse off stage and I pick it up. Me: Oh, I see… … … … I miss him. Originally published in 2011. ![]() Hi Everyone, As many of you might know, we lost Lou Ocampo on Thursday, August 21st. Lou was the host of the 7 Leaves Radio Show and Bruce Garrett’s fiancé. She will be greatly missed. Instead of paying for 2 services (one here in Las Vegas and one in California) the family has decided to have a service and mass in California, alone. This Saturday, August 30 from 4pm-6pm, Bruce, along with Lou’s children will have a small memorial get-together for all of her Las Vegas friends and family. It will be at Bar Kada Avenue; A Filipino Ethnic and Fusion Gourmet Food & Bar Restaurant located at 2605 S Decatur Blvd #120, Las Vegas, NV 89102. Celeste, from Bar Kada, was generous enough to donate space for the event. There will be food and drinks for purchase and some entertainment, as well. Please come down and let’s remember Lou for the wonderful and kind person she was. Saturday Aug 30 4pm-6pm

Ocampo shared her love of mankind in her real life and on the radio as host of the 7 Leaves radio show. My thoughts are with Bruce Garrett, her family and friends who I know share in this great sadness. She will be greatly missed. October 29, 1957 - August 22, 2014 Saturday August 30, 12pm noon will be Lou M. Ocampo's viewing and at 2pm will be the service. ACBS 2457 North Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89108 I took this photo of Lou during her show on July 17, 2014. She had a great show. ![]() I didn't get to see my mom on Thursday because she had the rarity of 3 days off in a row so decided to go on a little vacation. They went out to stateline but returned home without staying over because they had gambled much more than they expected to. When I saw them Saturday, it was just supposed to be a quick swing-by to pick up a package and to give Brian the details on who requested his info from my Facebook post but moms decided to cook for me.... um..... YAY! Anytime she wants to cook for me makes me so very happy. As I was talking with Brian about upcoming small job prospects, my mom interjected... Mom: Who are these people, Ohma? Me: Just people I know on Facebook, mom. Mom: Any of them ladies? Me: Yes, as a matter of fact. Mom: What do they want? So I explained to her about what happened when Brian came over and she said: Mom: So, none of them want my man? Me: Uh... no, mom, your man will be fine. Mom: They better not or I kick all you friends' ass, okay Ohma? Me: Okay, mom. LOL!
