Life March continued the drama that had erupted in February and it was difficult... so very difficult... to hold my tongue.
By the end, it was almost as if we were "friends" again... although I remain unfriended on social media and haven't heard from them since. I don't care, well, I care enough to post about it, but I grew up a military brat. Friends came and went and if you didn't adapt, you were a lonely kid. I have never been lonely. Mom
Spent the day with moms and family today... nothing extraordinary, except the food of course, and some ragtag conversation about the boy going to a strip joint and my mom saying she would drag him out by his ear... all in all, a GREAT day!! TimTim is a great friend I met through my best friend... Tim and I had made a bet. A bet about who the shoes belonged to at the end of the mid-season finale of the Walking Dead. We bet lunch. Guess who paid for who?
I had Tim take me to one of my favorite places, Uncle Angelo's inside Jerry's Nugget. It was great to spend some one-on-one time with him. A Friend's SabbatI've known Kelly since 2009. I met her on a radio show I once hosted about paganism. She came on the show and represented the Elven tradition. We made a lot of jokes about needing to have pointy ears to join but in Kelly, I found a wonderful, kindred spirit. We also share the same birthday. Sisters! After eight years, we were finally able to get together for a sabbat and I was delighted to have attended. I met her extensive group who were dynamic and friendly and participated in a most loving ritual. I was honored to have been asked to call and dismiss a quarter, and the after party food was tremendous! I do hope it won't be another 8 years for us to share a sabbat together.
Commentary from friends
RUN....... - Get out while you still can - What?? But what does that mean? Like theirs broke and they're waiting for the new one??? - Pod people. - Even pod people have a back up coffee maker. - Lol there are 3 coffee makers in my house. - Me too! I have a single serve, a regular pot, and a percolator that will make 32 cups of coffee. (Also I have an electric kettle and a French press in case you want to get fancy) - What no coffee. Who does that !!! - This is why my dad always travels with a single cup pot and a little container of Folgers. The Vernal Equinox
The commentary on the last picture stemmed from my neighbors not liking Mike. It quickly turned to reminiscing and sadness; everyone still misses him deeply. However, if Evil Dave can scrounge up the video of the night Mike got shot in the ass, we have a great night ahead! The ICS Vernal Equinox Sabbat 2017

I learned a wonderful new word nepenthe(noun) Originated from Ancient Greece, nepenthe is described as something, which can make you forget your heartache, grief or suffering. (via wordsnquotes) and I realized I have a lot of things in my life that I can classify as nepenthe
My heart was broken this month. Someone whom I loved dearly, instead of bringing an issue they had to me, chose a different way to handle it. I was crushed that this was the path they had chosen. Even moreso since the ensuing chaos has defamed another person I love and cherish. I have asked myself many times over the course of these past few days, what, if anything, could I have done to engender more trust by this individual. When I have an issue with something someone said or did, I go to the source, always to the source. I thought this was known protocol... or rather, I would have hoped that this was the protocol I have tried to instill in those around me. After days of ruminating, I realize it wasn't something I did or could have done. It was a knee-jerk reaction on their part. I am disappointed. Because of the chaotic aftermath of the above story, I thought I would offer up a sounding board if anyone had any questions about some of the heinous social media posts that they had been seeing. I offered up the simple, "Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have." After an innumerate amount of private messages, and several public questions that made me pull out my dusty tarot cards, I finally had to close the thread but I have to say, it was a fun Saturday. I'll have to do it again soon. Our group held a book fair this month. It was awesome and I got these great pictures. Are You Not Entertained?Things that entertained me this month. Sean Spicer Press Conference (Melissa McCarthy) - Saturday Night Live video February 4 "It took a few insults delivered in a trademark shriek to hammer home that this really was Melissa McCarthy, in drag, capturing the unquestionable essence of a political figure whose public image so far has largely revolved around belligerence, alternative facts, and cinnamon gum. As soon as the assembled audience figured it out, they began cheering, causing McCarthy’s Spicer to berate them once again. “Settle down, SETTLE DOWN!,” she screeched. “Before we begin, I know that myself and the press have gotten off to a rocky start. And when I say rocky, I mean Rocky the movie because I came out here to punch you. In the face. And also I don’t talk so good.” ~quoted from The Atlantic News
Myths, introduced when you are a child, make deep impressions that carry on throughout your life. I discovered Greek myths this way and have had a love of them ever since. The very first myth I ever read explained why we had winter 3 months out of the year. It was a beautiful, gentle tale of the love between a mother and daughter, Demeter and Persephone. My love of myths and stories and folkore stemmed from this series of books: "Childcraft was created as a sort of encyclopedia for young children. With simple texts and illustrations, the volumes were designed to make learning fun. Each volume addressed different subjects, including literature — such as short stories and poetry, including fairy tales and nursery rhymes — as well as mathematics and the sciences." ~https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Childcraft We had the 1974 version of which I read every one, cover to cover, several, several times. While researching for a simple children's story of how Odin obtained the runes for a post, I discovered this great site with kid stories accompanied by audio; including this one about 'How Odin Lost His Eye.' "We learn how Odin, the chief of the Norse gods, gained True Wisdom so that he could see everything that was happening, and was about to happen, all at the same time. He had to pay a high price for the gift, as you will hear." Read by Elizabeth Donnelly. Adapted for Storynory by Charlotte Sebag-Montefiore. Duration 14.32

People just think they can be open about it now. I'll say this though... you keep watching this (Fox news opinion) and it will always stay that way. They only talk about the hate. Mom: Shut up, Ohma. I like this channel. They always speak truth. Me: Why didn't you guys tell me my sister was coming? I would have rearranged my schedule. Mom: We call you, Ohma. Me: Today... I can't change things last minute mom. Mom: Shut up, Ohma. You not so big I can't beat you ass. From February 2, 2017 Mom: You should be a psychic on TV, Ohma. Me: Nah. Mom: Yeah, Ohma. Get Head Honcho Witch spirit give you some power. You get you own TV show. Mom: These writers piss me off, Ohma. Me: What writers? Mom: They burn down school. Me: Oh, rioters. The ones protesting that Milo guy. Mom: Why they have to destroy they school? They should just shoot him. He never talk again. Me: MOM!?! Later: Me: Yeah... that guy is pretty bad, mom. Mom: Then he should be shot. Me: You can't shoot a guy because some people thinks he's a bad man. Mom: Ohma, If I'm a bad person, talk sheet about people, treat people bad... then kill me, too. There is evil in me. You don't want to keep evil people around. Watching a show called 'Beat Bobby Flay'
TV: Winner is.... Bobby Flay Mom: What?!! The other guy was better. Me: Mom, it's called Beat Bobby Flay... it's already tilted to Bobby winning. Mom: I know, Ohma, but he should let other people win. He will always have show...let other people win, too. My mom may be a conservative but she's a liberal at heart. PS: she has a new haircut. http://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/beat-bobby-flay Feb 4, 2017When your weekend starts like this, it's gonna be a good time. The ladies and I were heading out on a short road trip and decided to selfie it just in case we were all lost at once (abducted by aliens, etc). Love these ladies! During the trip we had several conversations, including one about pig bungholes being spongy... Current convo: balls and bungholes #spongyRefering to a podcast I had heard from This American Life Transcript and download available In my 'On This Day' popped up an article about taking photos when you're fat and how a lot of people who are indeed fat, avoid photos often. Many years ago, I was quite camera shy because of my weight. That changed. With photos we document our own history; our lives, our loves, our passions, our dreams. I always take several photos now and find the one I like the best. I hope to get selfies with every friend I have and will ever have. :-) From the article: "Our vanity is no longer enough of a reason to avoid the camera. Life doesn’t wait until you “get thin” enough to capture it. Life is happening... it is happening right now and the only moment we are guaranteed is the one we are living." Click here to read the article from the Huffington Post in full. I'm totally zen about it now and plan on getting a selfie with every. single. one. of. my . friends.

My very favorites. On Monday, March 10, my mom said to me when she heard me humming: "Ohma, it's too bad you can't sing no more. You used to sing good." Thanks mom. I spent the entire next day singing Tracy Chapman's, Heaven's Here On Earth. She's right. A facebook friend posted the BladeRunner Trailer and I was asked about the Horses story I watch the Walking Dead with one of my favorite people every week and I have multiple types of copies of the books. I'll add more as I come across 'em.
