02/02/14 Wasted On The Way by Graham Nash. Happy Birthday, Mr. Nash!
Wasted On The Way Look around me, I can see my life before me Running rings around the way it used to be I am older now I have more than what I wanted But I wish that I had started long before I did And there's so much time to make up everywhere you turn Time we have wasted on the way So much water moving underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away Oh when you were young did you question all the answers Did you envy all the dancers who had all the nerve? Look round you know, you must go for what you wanted Look at all my friends who did and got what they deserved So much time to make up everywhere you turn Time we have wasted on the way So much water moving underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away So much love to make up everywhere you turn Love we have wasted on the way So much water moving underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away Let the water come and carry us away Songwriters GRAHAM NASH FEBRUARY
Wan February with weeping cheer, Whose cold hand guides the youngling year Down misty roads of mire and rime, Before thy pale and fitful face The shrill wind shifts the clouds apace Through skies the morning scarce may climb. Thine eyes are thick with heavy tears, But lit with hopes that light the year's. Algernon Charles Swinburne IMBOLC
So the skies rumbled and the snows came, And everywhere down through the centuries of this gray night, Came women gathering to pray, And to sink their hands into the dark earth. They gathered seeds and prepared them for planting, They meditated in the icy darkness, And they celebrated the lambing of the first ewe, To hasten spring. And when through the earth they felt the stirring, They sang songs encouraging the tiny seeds to grow. In the dark, wet soil you can smell their work still; They are digging along beside us. Listen! The north wind carries their song across the snow, This Imbolc night. As the Earth prepares for Spring, Wise women gather in circles to await the promise of new life, And to sing praises for the green earth. And so do we, here now, This year, and every year. Welcome Imbolc! These daily doodles started here, with a note for Alfonso. I had posted an art challenge on Facebook: I, Erma Zurita, hereby promise to make a small work of art for the first ten people who comment on this post and say "YES, I want in". A 'like' alone is not enough of a commitment. You must in turn post this as your status update and make something for the first ten who comment on your status. * The rules are simple: it has to be your work, made by you, and the recipient must receive it before 2014 ends. * It can be anything art-based: a drawing or a conceptual work of art and anything in between. See how that is? SIMPLE. Yes, you can be on each other's pay it forward lists. First ten peeps, GO!" He replied with, "Does a smiley face on a post-it count as art? I am far to lazy to do anything more..." "...Alfonso Zamora 'cos he doesn't believe a post-it note can be art (I LURVE post-it notes, BTW.).... I will prove this wrong. I have a million post it notes here, I will find a pretty one or make one. Hah!"
